Day 14


Doing so great on this diet! I'm down to 175, and feeling very comfortable. I really feel so much better-we've been pretty busy, and active, and the only occasional twinge I have is light headedness from bending over to pull weeds and then standing up straight, but to be honest, that happened before sometimes, too.

I really can't believe how little hunger I have. Eating just 500 calories, that's crazy!

I do really have trouble drinking all the water I'm supposed to. It gets toward the end of the day and I realize I'm very behind, so I start chugging, and then I'm up all night peeing! Argh!

But very happy with the consistent weight loss!! So simple!

Just completed my weight loss chart and have noticed that I lose less on days that I eat my favorite spinach frittata! :( Boo hoo! I just bought a carton of egg whites, too! I guess I can make that a cautionary food (for me) in VLCD.

Day 6

Day 4 of eating VLCD. I get hungry in the morning--that's because I have found that I prefer my lunch and dinner to have my fruit in them, so I have to "save" my fruit until then. Yesterday I had some hunger pangs, but I had a cup of tea and a GIANT bottle of water. Tried to drink more water yesterday, must have had about 96 oz! Whew. Plus teas and Audrey's Java drink-yesterday's was way better than the first one-I didn't add any vanilla the first time, yesterday I did, with a whole packet of stevia. MUCH better, the first time it was super strong! Now, I love strong coffee, but it was too much, lol.

I am down to 181.4, which I haven't seen in a while-I've now gone down past my stagnant new "regular" weight. I weighed this, 181 for YEARS. But it's going quickly! I've lost 10.6 pounds! I think I will make some "cook ahead" chicken, so that my daily lunch prep is easier.

So far really love Joyce's no name meal, cabbage with spicy shrimp and apples. YUM.

Day 4

Decided to go ahead and blog about this diet, since I've done it for the others, and THIS one is going to work. So this is day 4, but feels like only day 2 to me, since the first two days were my loading days. I felt ok after day 1, and on the 2nd morning hadn't gained but 1 pound, which was FINE BY ME! But by the end of the second day I'd read more and decided I needed to eat more fat, and we ate Mexican for lunch and I made fettuchini alfredo with tons of garlic bread for dinner, and I felt TERRIBLE by the evening. Yuck. So this morning I'm at 186.8, which is down a little over 5 pounds from my highest weight, but it doesn't feel like much when it's still around where I was before I had my piggy weekend!!

Breakfast yesterday was an apple and tea. Felt just fine!
Lunch: shrimp on wilted cabbage
Dinner: baked chicken (foil recipe) with 10 asparagus spears.

Only a little bit of hunger, and I did NOT drink enough water! By around 1 I'd had 32 ounces, and then drank several glasses of ice tea, so I was in the bathroom every couple minutes! It was driving me crazy! I'm hoping my body gets used to it, because it takes a lot of time to pee 4 times an hour!

All in all happy with it, the food was great, I enjoyed both recipes I tried, and will work on some new ones today-I need to be able to make some stuff ahead of time...

Am not used to counting calories, either, but it's kind of a challenge.

Yay! Down a couple more! And I'm feeling good-my tummy hasn't been hurting. No headaches, because I'm drinking caffeinated tea. Whew.

OK. Going about this a different way this time. I simply cannot stick to a 21 day plan anymore--too hard while trying to feed children! So this is my 2nd week of detoxing during the week and eating "regularly" on the weekends. We'll see how it goes. I'll try for at least 3 days during the week, four if I can swing it. I'm still down from the first 3 days of detoxing, so hopefully it will keep me moving down the scale on the whole-maybe not as quickly, but if it could be permanent weight loss, and a program I can stick to, I'd be thrilled!
